Personal Impressions...

First off I would Just like to thank troop 14 for giving me so many once in a lifetime opportunities and experiences. I am so very thankful for leaders of Troop 14 and BSA for teaching, and helping me experience so much.

Yet another successful, awesome, & once in a life time trip for Troop 14. My experience at Sea Base was just amazing. I had such a good time. I would not change a thing about it. The trip was like no other I have been on before. And that is saying something because I have been to Yosemite, Yellowstone, and all the country with Troop 14, and none of them compare. That is why when people ask me what my favorite trip has been I just can't answer. First off base camp at Sea Base was a neat experience. Even though we did not spend much time there, I really enjoyed the atmosphere of Base Camp. It was right on the ocean, had some great views, and even had a few ping pong tables. That provided us with some great enjoyment. Seeing Mr. Pratt take on all that dared to challenge him in a game of ping pong was a treat. He put on a clinic. during the two days he played, destroying all in his path and finishing with record of 23-1.

Once we arrived down at Key West and stepped foot on the boat and met the captains and crew, I knew it was going to be a good week. Our crew was very relaxed, while being very involved. This helped us to have a good time and enjoy ourselves, and feel very comfortable. Captain Rhon was a great and experienced sailor who did his best to make sure everyone enjoyed themselves. When some scouts would not do their assigned jobs because they were going off the rope swing or swimming, he would step in to help and say don't worry about it as long as you guys are having fun I don't want you to worry about this. I thought this is a captain of the people; he does what ever he can to make sure we get the best experience out there, and that was just great.

Another hi-light of the trip for me was the snorkeling at the reef. I had a ball getting a first hand look at the marine life. It was ironic the thing that I enjoyed the most was the thing I was dreading the most. Before we got down there I was extremely nervous about swimming in the ocean. It has always been a fear of mine. But like so many other fears I overcame and had a blast swimming in the ocean. Oh yeah and before I forget. I came back to win a game of checkers by executing my first ever (Pause of Dramatic effect.......) quadruple jump. Yes yes, it did happen. And I must say that is one of the many hi-lites of my trip. If I were to write about all the things we did down there I would still be writing at this minute. It is so hard to write about all the things. All I can say is that it was a fanatic trip that I loved SO MUCH . I just had such a great time down at Sea Base and I would recommend it to anyone; truth is I wish I was still there right now

I also really enjoyed the lightening shows that occurred nightly. It was really cool because we got to see this natural wonder but did not have to suffer through the storm because the storm was taking place 100 miles away in the gulf. Furthermore I really enjoyed just sailing and being on the ocean. It was just something. I also on occasion enjoyed Sam N's Forest Gump impressions they gave us a good laugh from time to time. I am so glad I decide to go on this trip and I am also glad that I embraced every aspect of it.
