The afternoon was cold & blustery. We had an excellent
tour guide. Views were tremendous, even with the diminished visibility.
No time to eat at cafe, we headed outside to make the short climb to the
summit.
After Allied forces captured the Eagle's Nest, many of the
soldiers chipped off pieces of the mantle over this fireplace to take home
as souveniers.
"Nevermore" quoth the raven, "Nevermore!"
Let us hope we never again see the likes of Eagle Nest's original owner.
We hiked to this memorial atop Eagle's Nest. Inspired, Ian P pointed to
the heavens!!
More pointing, Kos wearing BSA uniform with ancient patches, we sang "Happy
Birthday" to Tyler T. at the summit and Luftmarschall Bauer strikes a few
humorous poses with his ever-present camera.
