October 20-22

Four scouts and two adults stayed through the night of Oct 21-22...  Matt, Chris and John I ... Mike and Brian F ... Anthony L.

John Koslosky of course helped during set-up and tear down, while Bill K. and Goose helped eat chicken barbeque, cheese and pepperoni, and tend fires.  :-)

The weather was absolutely fantastic, and I'm sure we'd have had a near full showing from the rest of the troop, had it not been for competition from PSAT's, track meets, and marching band competitions.  We even enjoyed guest visits from Webelos of Pack 14!
All told, a total of 250 people attended, representing cubs, parents, and boy scouts.  It was one of the largest Camporees in recent history, and was considered a resounding success.

Mohawk Valley Firebirds

Once we got the campsite set, we were treated to an excellent air-show by the Mohawk Valley Firebirds; a remote control airplane club.  One of the most amazing 'planes' was a flying lawn mower (I'm not kidding).  You had to see it to believe it.

In addition to just some general hanging out and relaxing, we did some hiking, played football, basketball,Pa210036.jpg (39559 bytes) and horseshoes.  There were drawings for prizes, and Troop 14 won three of them!  Although the night was chilly (had to break ice off the water in the morning to make hot chocolate) we still managed a full  breakfast including donuts, sausage, orange juice, milk and oatmeal.
